This character has only one speech. He enters expecting the King of Denmark to thank him for executing Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. Instead, he sees four bodies, and finds no one in charge. He says:

The sight is dismal;
And our affairs from England come too late:
The ears are senseless that should give us hearing,
To tell him his commandment is fulfill'd,
That Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead:
Where should we have our thanks? (5.2.367-372)

Horatio tells him that the dead King wouldn't have thanked him in any case, because he didn't order the deaths of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. [Scene Summary]
