conned them out of rings: i.e., memorized the sayings engraved on rings. —Such sayings, called "posies," were known to be sentimentally sweet and hackneyed. Jaques is teasing Orlando by asking if the real source of the poetry he has been posting on trees isn't memorized ring engravements.
